The Emperor's Watchmarker by Lemn Sissay

I like this poetry book because I like writing poetry. There are some poems that are funny and some that are sad and some that make me happy. I liked reading all of them and I liked the ones that make me happy mostly.

Poetry books have lots of poems some that rhyme and some that don't that's why I like poetry books.

Miss Wolf and the Porkers by Caroline Condon

Once upon a time there was a family named the Porkers. Their kids names are Dan Shorty and Rails. They are the nicest kids in the world. They smile at people they don't know and help people when they are sad like when a child was running and tripped over a rock one of the boys just ran to him to help him up. Shorty is called Shorty because he is just short. Rails is called Rails because they could not think of another name but they had a book of names and they did not even look at it. There was Rodney,Russell, Laurence, Rynel, Sam,Brian and Joshua. Their perents were so mean and they started to run away. The kids were happy and called some friends so they could celebrate and after they celebrated they went to sleep. After that they went to school and had a rough day at school.

This book is really good to read. I hope you enjoy it too!

Superfudge is a good story because it always has suprises and it is interesting. It is sometimes funny because Peter's little brother Fudge sometimes tricks Peter. I'd rate this book 10/10. The Hidden Forest by Jeannie Baker

The Hidden Forest is a great book because it is colourful, has a lot of environmental scraps and looks like it has real underwater scenes. It is about a boy called Ben who wants to trap a big fish in his trap. He is never satisfied, but when a big fish turns his boat over he calls for Sophie who is a strong diver. He sees a wonderful underwater world and a big whale. Instead of killing his last catch he liberates it. I would rate this book 10 out of 10 because of the colourful expression used. I think that ages 6-8 would like this book and I hope everyone else will like it as much as I did!

Too Cool Cricket Legend by Phil Kettle

What I like about Too Cool Cricket Legend that it is very descriptive and at the end of the book it explains the rules of cricket for people that don't know how to play. It also has a quiz after you have read the rules. I also recommend the other Too Cool books for people to read.

Poems About Time by Giovanni Manna

Lots of people like to read poems and like me every one has a favourite. My favourite is called ''Length of time'' and it goes like this...
Time is peculiar and hardly exact.
Though minutes are minutes you'll find a fact
[as the older you get And the bigger you grow]
that time hurry like this or plod very slow.
Waiting for your dinner when you're hungry?
Down with the sniffles in your bed?
Notice how an hour crawls along and crawls along
Like a snail with his home upon his head.
But when you are starting a game at the park
it's morning, it's noon, and suddenly its dark.
And hours like seconds rush blurringly by,
Whoosh!like a plane in the sky. That was by Phllis McGinley.

I recommend this book for all ages.

Prue Theroux the Cool Librarian by Gillian Rubinstein and David Mackintosh.

Prue Theroux is a librarian who has six arms. There are books all over the school. The school is called Numbat Primary School. The children don't like sport, they don't like maths, they don't fight, they just read!
One day the cool librarian Prue Theroux was sick. The next day a teacher came in but it wasn't Prue Theroux. The children discovered that the teacher was a boy robot(Mr Boycott). He was very cranky with the children. The next day Prue Theroux came back and twisted Mr Boycott's head off.
You should read this book, it is funny.

One day when his sister Alexandra and Nathan's mum were on their way to school their car would not start so mum called Nathan and said, "Can you come and fix the car?" Then Nathan fixed the car. It started up. He said to his mum it was only a dirty battery. so then Alexander and Nathan's mum went to school.

When he got to school they were doing a recount so he went up to the teacher and then he started. Animalia by Graeme Base

Animalia is a book about animals and what they are doing. It has many alliterations such as 'nine nautical newts navigating near Norway' and 'eight enormous elephants expertly eating easter eggs.' If you want to have some fun, you can find the things that begin with the same letter such as ' wicked warrior wasps wildly waving warlike weapons' and the things are washing, whales, wizard, well, wharf and waterfall. There is an alliteration for every letter exept X.
I think that this book would suit people ages four to eight.

Princess Smarty Pants

Princess smarty pants is......well, a smarty pants. She always likes to ride her very fancy motorbike and she has pets out of the odinary. One day her parents ask her to find herself a resourceful man. Princess Smarty Pants of course dislikes this order and refuses to marry.
The next day a long line of men were waiting for her near the castle gates. Her parents said that this was her chance and after a lot of negotiating Princess Smarty Pants finally comes to an agreement she will marry a man if they past tests of her choice........Princess Smarty Pants gave horrible, dreadful, spinechilling tests that only the bravest men would face, like riding her motorcycle, feeding her ferocious pets and worst, cleaning the fish pond. These tasks may seem easy but Princess Smarty Pants gives an added twist to these tasks........but finally a man with outstanding courage is able to finish these tasks BUT!!!!!! will Princess Smarty Pants be able to accept his hand in marriage?
I'll leave you to be the judge of that but I recommend you think out of the box for this kind of story!!!!
I know that children of all ages will enjoy this one of a kind story.

The Story of Rosy Dock by Jeannie Baker

People say Rosy Dock is the oldest river! It's surrounded by a dersert. For thousands of years nothing has been changed. The land was hot and dry of course. The wind blew very strong. It hardly rained. But hidden in prehistoric mountains there are ancient oases. The river was mostly covered with sand. One day the black clouds came. The rain poured hard and there were noisy sounds coming from the storms. The whole place was flooding. Then..... the sea was slowly fading away and the desert blossomed with flowers. A few days later the whole land was filled with red seedpods.
I think the illustrations and the story is brilliant. The book is great for all ages.

Too Cool Rugby By Phil Kettle

I enjoyed reading Too Cool Rugby League because after reading the first page I thought it was going to be an interesting book . Its about a boy who played Rugby League.
One night he and his dad were watching rugby league on TV. Then his Dad called the TV stars and he said that his son wanted to play as well. He was allowed to come to a match and then they gave him the clothes to be a player. They taught the boy how to play and then he got to play a real game. It was a really good book and I enjoyed it.
